What Is The Alberta Emission Offset System?
The Alberta Emission Offset System is the largest and longest operating regulatory carbon market in Canada.
Emission offset project developers undertake eligible projects to reduce or sequester greenhouse gas emissions and serialize as emission offsets on the Alberta Emissions Offset Registry.
Re(source) Energy is an emission offset project developer.
Project developers quantify emission offsets using government-approved quantification protocols. Project developers must retain independent third party assurance providers to verify all emission offset claims.
As of November 2019, over 55 million Alberta emission offsets have been serialized.
